1. Acceptance of these terms

By using this website or any of the tools on it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. There is nothing to sign and no account to create, so using the cleaner is how you accept them.

If you are using SonicSweep on behalf of a business or an organisation, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for it. If you are under 18, use the tool with the involvement of a parent or guardian, particularly given the volume warning below.

2. What SonicSweep is

SonicSweep is a free website that generates tuned sound frequencies in your browser. Those tones make a speaker vibrate in a way that can push trapped water, dust and lint back out of the grille. We also publish sound tests and written guides about speaker care.

It is a cleaning aid, and that is the whole claim. It is not a repair service, not a diagnostic instrument, not medical or hearing related equipment, and not a substitute for a technician looking at your hardware. We hold no devices, take no bookings and cannot inspect anything remotely.

3. Your licence to use the tool

You may use the cleaners and sound tests as often as you like, for free, for personal purposes and for commercial ones. Cleaning the speakers on customer devices in a repair shop, on company laptops as part of IT maintenance, or on stock you are refurbishing to sell, is all fine and needs no permission from us.

That licence is for using the tool as we publish it, on this website. It does not include copying the tool, embedding it elsewhere or presenting it as your own product. Section 7 sets out the limits.

4. Safety: the tool plays loud audio on purpose

Use it sensibly:

• Keep the speaker away from your ears. Never hold the device against your ear while a cycle runs, and do not run a cleaning tone through headphones or earbuds that are in your ears. Put earbuds on a table, at arm's length, and start the cycle from there.
• Keep it away from babies, children and pets. The frequencies are genuinely distressing to dogs and cats, and small children have no way to move themselves away from the sound.
• Keep it away from hearing aids and cochlear implants. Do not run cleaning tones through a hearing aid, and take hearing aids out of your ears before cleaning a nearby speaker at full volume.
• Do not run it at maximum volume for extended periods. Two or three cycles with pauses between them is the intended use. Leaving a tone playing at full volume for many minutes on end risks both your hearing and unnecessary strain on the speaker.
• Stop if anything sounds wrong. Rattling, buzzing, clipping or distortion means the level or the frequency is too much for that speaker. Lower the volume or stop.
• Take the device off charge if it is wet, and do not run cycles on a device you suspect has liquid inside the body rather than just the speaker cavity.

It clears blockages. It cannot repair hardware. If a speaker is torn, disconnected, corroded or has a failed amplifier, no frequency will fix it, and running more cycles will not change that. Our about page explains where we draw that line and our guides tell you when the honest answer is a repair shop.

You use the tool at your own risk. You are responsible for choosing the volume, the mode and how long you run it, and for deciding whether it is appropriate for your device. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for damage to a device, a speaker, any accessory connected to it, or for hearing harm resulting from use of the tones.

5. No warranty

The site and the tools are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise that a cleaning cycle will fix your speaker, that the site will always be available, that it will work identically in every browser, or that it will be free of errors. Browsers change their audio behaviour from time to time and something that worked last month can behave differently this month.

Nothing in these terms excludes any right you have under consumer protection law that cannot legally be excluded.

6. Limitation of liability, in plain words

If something goes wrong, our liability is limited. We are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses: lost data, lost work, lost income, the cost of a replacement device, or the cost of a repair you would have needed anyway. Since the service is free and you pay us nothing, our total liability to you for any claim connected with the site is limited to zero, or to the minimum the law in your jurisdiction permits if that is higher.

Put simply: we are giving you a free tool and honest instructions. Deciding to use it on your device is your call, and the consequences of that decision are yours.

7. Intellectual property and acceptable use

The site's content is ours: the page copy, the guides, the design, the branding, the icons, the code that runs the cleaner and the tone and sweep configurations behind each mode. It is protected by copyright and we have not placed it in the public domain.

You may not:

• Scrape, crawl or bulk copy the site in order to rebuild it, mirror it, translate it wholesale or feed it into a competing tool or content library.
• Copy the cleaner code, the tone configurations or the sweep logic into your own website, app or product.
• Resell the tool, or present it as your own service, whether free or paid.
• Frame, embed or wrap the site inside a paid app, a paywalled page or anything that charges people for access to something we give away.
• Strip out the branding, or imply that SonicSweep endorses, certifies or is affiliated with your product.
• Interfere with the site's operation, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or use automated traffic in a way that degrades it for other people.

What you may do: quote a short extract from a guide with a clear credit and a link back to the original page, link to any tool page freely, and recommend the site to customers or colleagues. If you want to do something more substantial with the content, ask us first. We are reasonable about it.

8. Third party links and advertising

We link out to manufacturer support pages, repair resources and occasionally products. Those sites are not ours, we do not control what they publish or how they behave, and a link is not an endorsement or a warranty of anything you find there. Any dealings you have with a third party are between you and them.

The site carries a small number of advertising slots, placed away from the tool controls, which is how it stays free. We do not write or approve the individual ads that appear, and an ad appearing on a page is not a recommendation from us. If an ad is broken or covering the controls, tell us through the contact page and we will move it.

9. Changes to the service and to these terms

We add device pages, retune frequencies, rewrite guides and occasionally remove things that are no longer useful. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time, without notice, and we are not obliged to keep any particular tool or page available. Since there is no account and no subscription, nothing of yours is lost when something changes.

These terms can change too. Updates are published on this page with a new date at the top, and continuing to use the site after that counts as accepting the revised version. The page you are reading is dated 15 September 2026.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the site operator is established, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of that jurisdiction. Mandatory consumer protection rights in your own country of residence are not affected.

11. Severability and entire agreement

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing something immediately does not mean we have given up the right to enforce it later. Together with our privacy policy, these terms are the whole agreement between you and us about your use of the site.
